Muncho lake in Northern British Columbia is a great location to head off to as the ice retreats from the deep glacial blue waters in early to mid May. There is a provincial campground with a dock and boat launch on the east end of the lake with easy access off the Alcan Hwy.
Lake trout are found close to the shores at this time of the
season and after a long cold winter linkering below the layers of ice, these
fish are ready for a feast.
Muncho Lake offers good fishing for lake trout, arctic grayling, bull trout and whitefish. There is a lodge and privately operated campground also on the lake.
The dock provides some pretty fair fishing in the springtime but this lake is fairly large and the use of a boat is greatly suggested.
