The following story is from my Yukon and Southeast Alaskan fishing blog
http://fishonyukon.com/
---------

Took off Saturday morning with my four year old, a neighbour and his four year old to try our hand at Fish lake IN Whitehorse, Yukon. The plan was to hit the south end of the lake, try to pull in a few Grayling to keep the kids interested, then troll for Lakers on the way back and stop and have a hot dog roast. My guess was that I would get about an hour of good fishing in with the four year olds before they got too bored in my small boat.

Grayling fishing in the Rancheria River

Email Article To a Friend View Printable Version
You don't need a boat, nor a fancy set of boots to catch a pail full of pan sized grayling in the Rancheria River. If your traveling on the Alaska highway this year, stop by Rancheria Resort and break out that flyrod. Last year, on our trip through the Yukon, we stopped at Rancheria River Lodge for some fuel and a bit to eat. There was a young boy and his father walking back to the lodge with two very nice grayling on a stringer. Well the conversation began something like, WOW those are some nice fish. The boy and his father began to fill in the details of their Canada fishing vacation that started in Grande Prairie Alberta and had lead them to this resort outside of Watson Lake Yukon.
